standout Bouzy Pinot

about formerly a red-wine only producer, Champagne Brice was founded in 1994 by Jean-Paul Brice; his two sons, Jean-René and Remi now run the property with the help of viticulturist Christophe Constant, formerly of J.-L. Vergnon and Paul Bara. Twelve hectares are owned, eight in Bouzy which are divided into sixteen plots, as well as Chigny-lès-Rose and Loches-sur-Ource. Focus is Pinot Noir, with one hectare of Chardonnay and a little bit of Meunier planted.

From two lieux-dits in Bouzy, Poteaux and Mont des Tours. No malolactic fermentation. Two years on the lees. Dosage of less than 6g/l. Powerful expression of Pinot Noir from Bouzy, smoky, weighty, and leesy, balanced by fresh red apple aromas and high acid.
