about high-quality producer making an extraordinary range of site-specific wines, including white and pink Sekt. They’re based in Kamptal, one of the three Austrians close to the Danube: quality is high, acid is high, Grüner Veltliner is the focus but there are other grape varieties more associated with Burgundy and Alsace. The restaurant is superb.

Unusual blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Grüner Veltliner. 18 months’ lees ageing. Ageable, with vibrant acidity and a lees-based edge. Expensive.
