wines tasted
Crémant de Loire NV ($25)
100% Chenin Blanc. Aged six months in tank before second fermentation and one year ageing in bottle. Very light filtering, no fining, little sulphur. Approachable, relatively youthful, very good representation of Crémant de Loire.
“1948” Extra Brut Crémant de Loire ($40)
100% Chenin Blanc, from 70-year-old vines. Matured for six to eight months in oak barrels, before second fermentation and three years ageing in bottle. No dosage. More serious than the Crémant, with more depth and weight while maintaining freshness.
