wines tasted
“Favorite” Vin de France Brut NV ($27)
A blend of Menu Pineau (aka Arbois, an historic but rarely planted white Loire variety) and Chardonnay. Two years barrel ageing, followed by three years in the bottle: quite an aged sparkling wine, while maintaining all the freshness of the Loire. Little sulphur added, with delicate, lightly creamy texture.
Pétillante Rosé NV ($29)
Equal parts blend of Cabernet Franc and Pineau d’Aunis. Gently sparkling, with expressive red fruit aromas. Fun and edgy.
