standout “simplexity”
about Gilles Dumangin has a word to describe his wines: “simplexity,” reflecting the approachable fruitiness of the wines on top of a complex structure and texture. The winery is located in Montagne de Reims, and the wines are fruit-forward expressions of the region while maintaining freshness. The style is arguably a little flashy, but of very good quality. Ratafia and whiskey also made.
wines tasted
Le Rosé NV ($83)
48% Chardonnay, 39% Pinot Noir, 13% red wine Meunier. 13% vinification in oak, which is typical of the Dumangin style. Just over 4g/l dosage, which allows the acidity to lift the rich style.
