standout part of the Loire natural wine movement
about Stèphane Rocher quit his job in 2011 to move back to his native Anjou. He bought some land already planted to vines, and has planted new vines too. Very much part of Loire’s exciting and unpredictable natural wine movement. The domaine is called Ferme du Mont Benault, although Rocher’s name is more prominent on the label.

“Grappe de Bulle” NV ($35)
100% Cabernet Franc, but a white wine. Three years on the lees, no sugar added. Labelled Vin de France: a very good introduction to alternative winemaking in the Loire.
