standout biodynamic Côte des Bars producer specialising in Blanc de Noirs
about founded in 1895 in Courteron, in the heart of Côte des Bars, now run by fourth generation Jean-Pierre with his children, Jean-Sebastian and Benoît, continuing the family’s pioneering spirit. In 1929, Robert Fleury reacted to the Wall Street Crash by becoming one of the first grower-producers in Champagne; in 1989, Jean-Pierre began the conversion to biodynamics, and the winery has been certified since 1992. Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris also produced. Given the region and the black grape varieties used, the style of wine is quite rich but maintains freshness.
