standout the ultimate luxury champagne
about founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, whose ambition was to create the finest of champagnes. His focus was not to create vintages, but blends that reflected the best sites the grapes came from, which is still the practice at Krug. Now in the sixth generation, although owned by Moët et Chandon.

Grande Cuvée ($150)
Current expression is 45% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, 17% Meunier, although the blend changes each year. Always vintage based, and referred to as multi-vintage. Seven years on the lees. A rich, vinous style, which takes advantage of the fruit and weight of both Pinot Noir and Meunier. First made in 1843, Grande Cuvée is now in its 171st edition, which is based on the 2015 vintage. The blend is of 131 wines, dating back to 2000. Krug is a meticulously crafted champagne, hence its price.
