standout best co-op in Champagne
about a co-operative founded in the 1970s, a collaboration between Nicolas Feuillatte, who had made his money by importing coffee into the USA, and Henri Macquart, who had established Centre Vicole de Champagne in 1972 to help protect Champagne growers. The brand now is internationally successful and one of the few co-ops one would buy with confidence.

“Réserve Exclusive” Brut NV ($30)
40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay. Also known as “Blue Label.” There is nothing wrong about this wine, nor is there anything great about it. Not just available in 750ml bottles, but also 187ml—a useful drinking size, but loses all the complexity one would expect from Champagne.
