standout long-aged Champagnes, sometimes with a little bit of Pinot Blanc
about starting in 1981 and certified bio in 2009, the wines of Pascal Mazet undergo considerable ageing before release, often in oak barrels for the base wines, and for at least five years in bottle. There is also a perpetual reserve, which adds to the age of the wines in the blend. The style is rich but meticulous.

“Nature” Premier Cru (€35)
54% Meunier, 16% Pinot Noir, 16% Chardonnay, 14% Pinot Blanc. 26% réserve perpétuelle, 66% 2015, 8% 2014. 46% oak barrels for 12 months. There’s a lot of useful information on the back label (although the information on the website is different). A rich, powerful style, fresh, complex, and round, with a honeyed character coming from the unusual inclusion of Pinot Blanc and a weighty texture from maturation in oak barrels for the base wine.
