standout relatively large Levante family producer
about founded in 1919 by Camille Péters, Rodolophe is now the fourth-generation winemaker, owning 20ha: 15.5ha in the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant. Another 1.5ha are owned in Vértus and Verzenay, for a wine called “La Pearl, and 4.5ha in Sézanne and Côte des Bars for fruit which is sold. The wines are classic examples of Côte des Blancs: racy and lightly fruity.

Cuvée de Réserve NV ($65)
100% Chardonnay. Base wines date back to 1988, and include most vintages since then. All Grand Cru fruit. 75% malolactic fermentation adds a creamy richness to an otherwise lean, racy style. Great introduction to Côte des Blancs.
