standout classic Côte des Blancs (and Sézannais)
about the original André Heucq founded the winery in 1936, after previously making wine for home consumption. His son, Roger, took over in 1955, developing plantings, the winery, and the business. In 1973, his son, also called André, joined, expanding plantings further with a greater emphasis on barrel ageing and biodynamics. The winery is now by Alexandre and Fanny Huecq. The winery is located in the small village of Cuisles, which is in the heart of Vallée de la Marne which, together with the clay-limestone soils, are perfect for Meunier.

Héritage Assemblage ($54)
40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Meunier. Two-vintage blend, 30% vinification in oak barrels, and aged for five years on the lees. Lean and very acid driven, serious with great depth and a long finish, a smoky, rich texture from the long lees-ageing. Very classy wine.
