wines tasted

Riesling Extra Brut (€18)

Threee years on the lees, with 5g/l dosage. A gentle creaminess from the lees ageing, with a typical Riesling character.

Rosé Brut (€21)

100% Pinot Noir, with a similar profile to the Riesling Extra Brut but pink and with a bit more sugar (6.5g/l dosage). Proof of how well Pinot and Riesling complement each other.

Ultra Pinot Brut Nature 2017 (€39)

Acid and lees driven Pinot, with five years on the lees and minimal dosage for an intense, dry style balanced by bright red fruit aromas and a leesy texture.

Schützenhaus Riesling Brut Nature 2017 (€42)

Schützenhaus is an Erste Lage (Premier Cru)—Barth were one of the first producers to make single-vineyard Sekt. This is high-quality, site-specific Riesling with lees and bubbles, and a developing smoky maturity.

Hassel Riesling Brut Nature 2017 (€70)

Grosse Lage (Grand Cru) Sekt with the power, acid, heft, and complexity of the best Riesling, with five years lees ageing making the wine more gentle and creamy with a fine texture.
