standout historic, leading Trentino producer

about founded by Guilio Ferrari in 1902 with the goal of producing high-quality traditional method sparkling wine—a first for the Trentino region (which was still part of Austro-Hungary). In 1952, he sold the company to local wine shop owner, Bruno Lunelli, who expanded production, making the wines known across Italy. The winery is now run by his four grandchildren. Trentodoc, as the region is now formally known, has become quite fashionable, in large part due to Ferrari.
