standout organic, multi-dimensional Loire producer
about Marie-Scholastique Horeau purchased the property in the heart of the Loire Valley in 1964; the estate was run by her son Yves Guégniard and his wife Marie-Annick, and since 2018 has passed on to their two daughters Anne and Marie. They primarily work with Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Grolleau, moving towards organic practices since Yves and Marie-Annick took over. As they are located in Coteaux du Layon, sweet wine is also made as well as still and sparkling.

Crémant de Loire 2016 ($24)
Mostly Chenin Blanc, with some Chardonnay, this is a more aromatic wine than one would expect from Champagne, but with a similarly crisp acidity. It's made using the traditional method, and is aged in the bottle for at least 12 months on the lees before disgorgement. There is no dosage, so the wine is technically a Brut Nature, completely dry.
