standout Mendoza gang of four specialising in sparkling wine
about The four people who form the soul of Alma 4 are Agustín Lopez, Mauricio Castro, Marcela Manini, and Sebastian Zuccardi who met while studying at wine school. They decided to make wine together, with a focus on quality sparkling wine. The first vintage was 1998, with just 300 bottles. Although production is still small, they have been quietly influential: Sebastian's family, the Zuccardis, is one of Argentina's biggest producers who didn't make sparkling wine 20 years ago. Now they do.

Rosé 2018 ($27)
100% Pinot Noir, aged for 40 months. Floral and extremely pretty, with gently ripe red fruits.
“Almacita” Rosé NV ($18)
