about a very Argentinian wine story: Pascual Toso was an Italian immigrant who established a winery in Mendoza in the 1890s. It’s located in Maipu, and exports began twenty years ago. Good, consistent level of quality. Six different sparkling wines made from completely dry to sweet.

Pascual Toso Cuvée Réserve Brut Nature NV ($20)

95% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir. Two years on the lees. Very dry, stone fruit aromas, light lees influence, warm climate sparkling wine with bright acid. Not overly complex, but a gentle creaminess.
